Education: ACE Task Students To Be Ambassadors Of Excellence, Promote African culture
Graduating students of the American school of BONABERI ) ACE have been enjoined to be excellent leaders in society and promote African culture and values. The call was made on Saturday, May 28, 2022, by the staff of the institution during the graduation ceremony of two students (NGOH JESSICA and EBONGUE FRANCK) after completing 24 academic credits.
Speaking to the press, the dean of studies at the American school in BONABERI, DOUALA Mr EVAN COLEMAN explained that apart from finishing the 24 academic credits, the students upon graduation sit in for international exams such as the International General Certificate of Secondary Education, IGCSE and Advance placements, AP exams which permits them to compete with the best.
The colourful event was punctuated with the award and rewards of attestations to students, teachers and parents for their contribution to raising the standard of the school since its inception in 1997.
Students were awarded attestations after competing in the spelling bee, science, and typing competitions among others, others were recognised for their know-how on excellence and leadership, excellence in African centred education, curriculum etc.
Quizzed on why teachers and parents were rewarded, the dean stressed the fact that being an institution of learning, there is a need for them to ensure that the school realises its mission and vision in the long and short term, so recognising the efforts put in by parents and teachers is needful.
To some parents who answered present at the graduation ceremony of their children, the school to them brings out the best in their children ‘…students are oriented, nurture to become good leaders in the society….’ says a parent.
Both NGOH JESSICA and EBONGUE FRANCK, the graduating students concurred to impact what they have learnt during their stay in school in the society as they advise students in junior classes who will fit in their shoes next academic year to be hardworking.
